A very melty summer session
When Lissa reached out to me a few months ago about setting up a photo session for her kiddos and their cousins, I was so excited!! My grandparents had three kids and they each had two kids, so I only have 5 cousins total. I’m the oldest and our youngest is 10 so I didn’t have any cousins my age - the closest being my 3 years younger sister. I was always super envious of my friends that had cousins their age because they always had friends to play with. Don’t get me wrong, I love my sister, but I would have liked a little more diversity.
I met Lissa years ago when we both worked at Toodleydoo Toys (Imagination Station at the time). You might remember her family’s 4th of July photos from last summer, complete with red, white, and blue outfits and colorful pinwheels for the kiddos. We had so much fun at their last session and I couldn’t wait to see the kids again plus two for an adorable cousins photoshoot on IU’s campus.
We met at Hartzell’s where the kiddos all got ice cream. The ice cream hardly made the short walk to Sample Gates before it was melty and all over their outfits. No one seemed to mind though. The kids were all giggles as they played tag, had jumping contests, and tickled each other. As you can see from the photos, we had a lot of fun.
Lissa and Elaine, thanks for letting me entertain your kiddos for an hour. I’m excited for you to have these memories :)
