Lakeside Fall Family Session

The warm glow from the sun was welcome relief from the chilly lake breeze. It was late autumn, but the mosaic of orange, red, and yellows had yet to recede. Karlie and Zack, expecting their second child, were busy motivating their first with a bag of Cheerios. “Don’t you smile!” exclaimed Karlie, eliciting the expected toothy grin from Emmalyn. In between chants for “MIMI” and “CHEERIOS”, Emmalyn worked her parents and her photographer for these sweet moments.

My friend Karlie, from Karlie Jo Photography, had reached out to me a week before to arrange a last-minute session before the colors of the season were lost for another year. To quote my fellow photographer, she had FOMO on capturing this season of her life. I had just enough room in my schedule to squeeze her in and I’m so glad we were able to make it work.
